Help!
When Kyle was two years old (11 years ago already!) he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since that insane moment in our lives we have lived every day to the fullest. Kyle plays baseball, is a straight A student, is in Junior Honor Society, loves to swim, play with his friends, hunt, and dominate on Xbox... We are grateful to have done so much and to have everything we have in our lives. But everyday comes with the toll of Type 1... 8-10 finger pricks per day, sugars ranging from 40-400 (you and I are always around 100), constant carb counting, blousing insulin, changing pump sites and getting up every night at 2am in the morning to ensure he is not low cause being low too long causes seizures or death... It's a 24 hour a day job. Between finger pricks for blood, shots, and site changes Kyle has been stabbed over 40,000 times!!!!! Imagine what you would feel like after that!!! I have been serving the Board of Directors for JDRF Tampa Bay for 6 years and I am in my last year as President. We have been funding local and international research that will lead to the cure and along the way make our daily lives better. We are leading some major studies and results are great. I need your help, I am raising $40,000 in honor of my 40th Birthday and Kyle's 40,000 stabs on September 28th. On the night of September 27th we are having a wonderful Gala and at Midnight on my birthday I will hand over a check for $40k (right after I do Vanilla Ice karaoke).
Please join me in the fundraising effort for JDRF.
A very sincere thank you to all that have helped, pledged their help, and who will help!
Mike
